CSEC representatives paid a working visit to the Computer Security Incident Response Center of Montenegro - CIRT.ME (Computer Incident Response Team).
The aim of the visit was to strengthen regional cooperation and get acquainted with the functioning of the CIRT, as well as the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of cyber security. As part of the visit, working meetings were held where colleagues from CIRT introduced us to the normative and institutional model of cyber security as well as the current practice and coordination of cyber incidents in order to jointly preserve the safe cyberspace of Montenegro. They also presented activities aimed at strengthening cooperation at the national, regional and international levels.
Bearing in mind the cyber attacks that occurred last year, a visit to the Parliament of Montenegro was also carried out, where a meeting was held with representatives of the Department for Information and Communication Technologies. Representatives of the parliamentary IT sector introduced us to the procedures they applied before and after the cyber incident. Since the system was never offline and the infrastructure was restored in record time, it was jointly concluded that the application of standards and compliance with procedures, as well as the rapid flow and exchange of information, are of crucial importance for preventing and mitigating incidents.
As a conclusion of the visit, it was agreed that in the coming period, joint activities will be carried out with the aim of strengthening technical and personnel capacities in the field of information and cyber security.
